Opel Astra (10 - 15)

The Astra is one of the most underrated cars on the road but Irish buyers have always loved it. The saloon and estate models in particular are popular here and its no wonder as All versions look much better than the previous models and there have been huge improvements in the cabin. There is more passenger room and lots of extra luggage space. Leg and head room in the rear seats have also been improved making it a viable option for a family of five. There’s a high level of standard kit and safety features. On the road, the Astra is far more dynamic than it is given credit for. It handles really well and there is a solid, well-planted feel to the chassis. Even things like the gear shift have been improved to feel more positive and precise. There are plenty of engines to choose from; each quite efficient.
